Tradition of Success

The Oklahoma State University Rodeo Association began in 1946 when six students started practicing and competing together. In 1948, representatives of OSU Rodeo traveled to the first of many National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) rodeos and the team has been an active member of the association ever since.


The OSU Rodeo Team is home to three all-around national champions, two national champion teams and six individual event national champions. By joining the team, you will join a program that continues to produce numerous Central Plains Region champions and CFNR qualifiers. In addition, the program has multiple alumni who are Hall of Fame inductees. 

Commitment to Academic Achievement

The OSU Rodeo Team gives students the opportunity to obtain a degree from a Division I university and work with award-winning instructors, all while competing in college rodeo.

The OSU Rodeo Program is part of the Ferguson College of Agriculture. The college offers a diverse set of 16 undergraduate majors  and more than 50 study options. While many of our team members have majors within the Ferguson College of Agriculture, others have selected a major from one of OSU’s other disciplines.

OSU Rodeo team members excel academically. Our team members are routinely recognized as Dean and President’s Honor Roll recipients, top freshmen, seniors of significance, research scholars and NIRA Scholar-Americans.

Scholarships

OSU awards $320 million in scholarships every year. This includes $1.8 million awarded by the Ferguson College of Agriculture. In addition to the university and college levels, scholarships also are available at the team level.
